German energy technology company 1Komma5° raised €70 million in a financing round announced on October 12, 2026. The round valued the company at $1.35 billion, Handelsblatt reported.

The company is preparing a much larger bet on its Heartbeat AI software. Reuters reported that 1Komma5° plans to invest more than €100 million in the business in 2027.

The figures behind the expansion

  • Financing raised: €70 million
  • Company valuation: $1.35 billion
  • Planned Heartbeat AI investment in 2027: more than €100 million

Chief Executive Philipp Schröder told Reuters that 1Komma5° is also considering entering the United States in 2027. That is under consideration, not a confirmed launch plan.

1Komma5° is committing more money to software, but its US expansion is still undecided and its revenue figures remain targets.

What Heartbeat AI is meant to do

Heartbeat AI is designed to automate tasks such as energy trading, billing and metering. 1Komma5° says its wider system connects and manages household equipment, including solar panels, batteries and heat pumps.

The idea is to coordinate when homes use, store or sell electricity alongside the company’s energy products. The new valuation signals investor expectations for that strategy. It does not show how quickly the software will grow or whether the company will enter the US.

Revenue goals, not results

In September, 1Komma5° set a 2026 revenue target of around $750 million, Reuters reported. A company update dated October 12 gave a full-year target of around €700 million. Both are targets, not final results.

Schröder told Reuters that the company’s 2027 performance will help determine when, and whether, it pursues a US initial public offering. For now, the company is weighing expansion while directing more investment toward software for household energy systems.
